Narrative:
PF was hand flying the aircraft when ACARS message was received. PF was distracted and compared the new load closeout to the old closeout to detect any changes and allowed airspeed to increase to 280 KTS through 4500 ft climbing to 10000 ft.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF A MD80 ALLOWED AIRSPD TO EXCEED 250 KTS BELOW 10000 FT DUE TO A DISTR OF COMPARING LOAD MANIFESTS JUST RECEIVED OVER ACARS!
