Narrative:
Captain flying taxiing. Landed runway 35C dfw. Taxied clear of runway. Tower instructed hold short of runway 35L monitor complied. First officer contacted ramp. Tower cleared us to cross runway 35L monitor 121.8 other side. I answered and began taxi when tower to confirm crossing clearance and mentioned lighted aircraft. Tower confirmed our taxi clearance and asked air carrier Y to turn lights off. No one reported hurt in back no damage.

Title: SUPER MD80 LANDED RWY 35C AND CLRED TO HOLD SHORT RWY 35L. TWR CLRED TO CROSS RWY 35L. ACKNOWLEDGED AND STARTED TO CROSS. TWR ADVISED OF ACFT WITH LIGHTS ON AND IN RESPONSE RPTR MADE A SUDDEN STOP. NO INJURIES IN THE CABIN. TWR ASKED ACFT TO TURN OFF LIGHTS AND CLRED ACFT TO CONTINUE TAXI.
