Narrative:

Flight was en route from bwi-jax, when we experienced engine vibration. About 5 seconds later the #2 engine failed. We advised ATC for direct ric. We then started the emergency procedures, advised cabin attendants they had about 15 mins to prepare cabin. A normal single engine approach was made at ric. Note: overweight landing at 108000 pounds made. Sink rate was about 200 FPM touchdown. During inspection ground maintenance found defective turbine blades that looked badly damaged. Supplemental information from acn 355690: I declared an emergency. I advised ATC I wanted crash fire rescue equipment standing by.

Title: AN ACR B737-200 CREW RPTS THAT THEIR #2 ENG FAILED INFLT.
