Narrative:

Upon descent into tys we broke out into VMC conditions and were looking for the airport. I was the PF with the autoplt engaged. The autoplt did not capture 4000 ft, (it had been written up for not capturing altitudes occasionally the day before, maintenance checked it and it checked out good). We corrected as ATC informed us to check our altitude. They said it wasn't a problem but we decided to fill out a NASA report anyway.
