Narrative:
Cruise flight from bdl to ewr we received ewr ATIS which was reporting freezing drizzle. Our fom prohibits flts into known or forecast severe icing. We considered freezing drizzle to be severe icing so we contacted company dispatch. They told us to continue to ewr as 'we are allowed to fly into freezing rain and drizzle, but not severe icing.' further compounding the problem, our airframe deice system faulted (boots) a reset resulted in a second fault so we asked for, but did not receive, 'priority handling' into newark. (A second reset of the deice system was successful, though we were still uncomfortable with the situation.) considering our fuel available and the captain's high minimums status we concluded the best plan was to continue to newark. PIREPS reported negative ice above 4000 ft MSL. On approach we accumulated moderate ice but landed without incident.
