Narrative:
I had just climbed through 2000 ft and the controller told me to turn left to a heading of 090 degrees. I turned right to 090 degrees. No conflict arose from this turn. The controller asked me which direction I was turning. I said to the right and he said 'I said a left turn.' he told me to then continue the turn to the right to 090 degrees. Attention to detail would help prevent this situation.
