Narrative:
On vectors for ILS runway 21L approach controller, in a very rapid fashion issued a turn, descent and clearance. We missed what the heading was and upon trying to ask controller to repeat instructions, were blocked on our transmission. A third attempt to ask the controller what heading to turn to was successful. However, by this time we were very close to final and the heading had us overshooting the final approach course. Another controller got on the radio and, in a very angry tone, had us fly a new heading to intercept final. In my opinion this situation could have been avoided by having controller #1 issue his clearance in a slow and deliberate manner, not seeing how fast he can say 3 different things. We saw no safety of flight issue with this situation, meaning no aircraft were around us when we overshot the localizer. I believe some controllers get used to issuing the same clearance over and over and assume the pilots know from experience what he is about to say. This controller needed to slow down his delivery.

Title: B757 FLC UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND RAPIDLY DELIVERED CLRNC. THEY ATTEMPT TO CONTACT APCH CTLR FOR REPEAT AND ARE UNABLE UNTIL THE THIRD TRY. BY THIS TIME THEY ARE ABOUT TO OVERSHOOT THE FINAL APCH COURSE. SECOND CTLR COMES ON FREQ VERY ANGRY.
Narrative: ON VECTORS FOR ILS RWY 21L APCH CTLR, IN A VERY RAPID FASHION ISSUED A TURN, DSCNT AND CLRNC.
