Narrative:

Myself and the captain operated the flight from msp to mem on jan 1997. After a non eventful flight, we landed and taxied to the gate and performed the after landing and parking checks. Upon leaving the aircraft, I met the first officer who was taking over the aircraft. He noted that the flaps were still extended. I visually verified the fact and returned to the cockpit. The flaps were indicating extended. After visually clearing the aircraft, I turned on the electric hydraulic pump and selected the flaps up. After the flaps indicated up, I turned the hydraulic pump off and left the aircraft. Sometime after arriving at the layover hotel I was contacted by the customer service manager who stated that the outbound flight had been canceled because the aircraft had parked with the flaps extended and the fuel panel door had been damaged when the slats were retracted.
