Narrative:

I was assigned to work a #2 service and complete the non routine work on aircraft flight #zz on jan/thu/97. One of the non routine items was to check the master chip detector on the #2 engine. I removed the master chip detector from #2 engine and inspected it, no metal was found so I replaced the o-ring packing and reinstalled it. 2 days and 4 flts later, on jan/sat/97, our miami line station reported that the #2 engine master chip detector was missing. This incident was reported to me by my supervisor jan/xx/97.
