Narrative:

While cleared for a visual approach to runway 24L, I was in a turn (right) from downwind for base leg. I was hand-flying, looking for traffic and slowing/configuring for a 30 degree flap landing. During the turn to final, I picked up the south runway complex (runway 25R/left) by mistake. A relief pilot, pointed out the correct runway and I made the appropriate correction. I overshot runway 24L and approached runway 25R extended centerline during the correction. The captain notified tower of the overshoot to which tower replied there was no problem...no conflict with runway 25 traffic.

Title: FO OF A WDB OVERSHOT FINAL ON A VISUAL APCH DUE TO DISORIENTATION WHEN TURNING ON BASE LEG TO A PARALLEL RWY AND MISTOOK ANOTHER SET OF PARALLEL RWYS BEYOND THE PARALLEL SET TO WHICH HE WAS TURNING.

Narrative: WHILE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 24L, I WAS IN A TURN (R) FROM DOWNWIND FOR BASE LEG. I WAS HAND-FLYING, LOOKING FOR TFC AND SLOWING/CONFIGURING FOR A 30 DEG FLAP LNDG. DURING THE TURN TO FINAL, I PICKED UP THE S RWY COMPLEX (RWY 25R/L) BY MISTAKE. A RELIEF PLT, POINTED OUT THE CORRECT RWY AND I MADE THE APPROPRIATE CORRECTION. I OVERSHOT RWY 24L AND APCHED RWY 25R EXTENDED CTRLINE DURING THE CORRECTION. THE CAPT NOTIFIED TWR OF THE OVERSHOOT TO WHICH TWR REPLIED THERE WAS NO PROB...NO CONFLICT WITH RWY 25 TFC.
