Narrative:
The #2 engine of the aircraft a B757 required replacement. The original 'RB211' engine was removed and replaced with a serviceable assembly prior to my shift. As the inspector, I observed some of the cowl closing. The engine replacement paperwork called for the mechanic to 'restore aircraft to normal' item '23D' states to activate thrust reverser by pulling lockout pins and closing aft fairing access door. It has no inspection buyback. When the engine was ready to run, the mechanics and I performed tests #1, #10 and #13. No other tests were called out on the engine run paperwork including test #12 which tests the thrust reversers. Paperwork needs revision in this area!
