Shortly after liftoff, at approximately 1500 ft, aircraft collided with canadian goose. The crew's attention was momentarily focused on whether aircraft had sustained damage. The aircraft passed through the leveloff altitude of 2500 ft and continued to 2800 ft, then back down. The time above 2500 ft was approximately 20 seconds.
