Narrative:

Tul-iah feb/thu/97, tuned ILS frequency to runway 27 instead of runway 26. Flew through localizer back to runway 26 when controller advised us of the problem. First officer was identing ADF on approach check and hadn't got to identing ILS yet. We followed controller's instructions and intercepted the ILS to runway 26. I waited too long to call for the approach check. Supplemental information from acn 360413: captain set in ILS localizer frequency for runway 27 by mistake in his navigation. Captain set my frequency to runway 27 also. I was in process of an approach check and hadn't reached the frequency check portion. Captain flew through localizer 26 and started to join runway 27 localizer. Tower started getting excited telling us to turn right immediately to rejoin runway 26.
