A300 was distraction looking for traffic and ended high on approach to runway 7. On profile at 500 ft but 20 KTS fast. Firm landing and aircraft bounced on recovery, overrotated and struck tail. Uneventful 180 degree turn and taxi to gate. Cabin attendant reported heard noise on landing.

Cleared for runway 7 VOR/arc approach. Then at 10 NM cleared for visual approach. TCASII target at 4 NM from airport no mode C. Descent reduced until traffic visual below and right. High on approach until 500 ft in slot, power on but slowing. Touchdown firm. Late power application, bounced, overrotation on recovery. Rollout normal. Flight attendant reported noise aft on landing upon gate arrival. Supplemental information from acn 360094: flight feb/xx/97, sju-anu. 4 mi from airport, TCASII target confirmed visually at 1 - 1:30 O'clock position at about 1500 ft AGL, within 1 mi, no mode C (red and white twin otter).
