Narrative:

During final phase of taxi in to gate at night, with wing walkers at each wingtip, aircraft left wingtip collided with hand RAIL of parked loader. In cockpit, a momentary slight vibration was felt just prior to stopping. Upon opening main cabin door, the gate agent informed the crew of the collision. Upon immediate investigation by the crew, it was determined that the left wing walker had realized that clearance was insufficient, and signaled to the marshaller to stop the aircraft. The marshaller, however, did not see the signal and continued to marshall the aircraft into the gate. The left wingtip light was broken and the left wingtip dented. The damage was relatively minor, and the aircraft was back in service for its scheduled flight the next morning. The aircraft marshaller was new to that job.
