Narrative:
We were approaching lax and had been assigned a heading of 70 degrees after smo VOR and to descend to 7000 ft. As we approached 7000 ft we began to level off. We were also deviating around some WX. At this point we were distracted and continued past 7000 ft and the altitude alert sounded. We climbed back to 7000 ft, deviation was 700 ft. This occurred at the end of a 13 hour duty day and approximately 8 hour flight time day. I believe fatigue contributed and possible irritation with the previous controller. Supplemental information from acn 360983: at this point something distracted us and we continued the descent until the altitude warning sounded at 500 ft low. After a couple of seconds to figure out that the alert was correct we climbed back to 7000 ft.

Title: B727-200 ON VECTOR FROM SMO DSNDING TO 7000 FT. DEVIATING WX AND CONTINUED DSCNT TO 6300 FT. REGAINED ASSIGNED ALT. LONG DUTY DAY CONTRIBUTING.
Narrative: WE WERE APCHING LAX AND HAD BEEN ASSIGNED A HDG OF 70 DEGS AFTER SMO VOR AND TO DSND TO 7000 FT. AS WE APCHED 7000 FT WE BEGAN TO LEVEL OFF. WE WERE ALSO DEVIATING AROUND SOME WX. AT THIS POINT WE WERE DISTRACTED AND CONTINUED PAST 7000 FT AND THE ALT ALERT SOUNDED. WE CLBED BACK TO 7000 FT, DEV WAS 700 FT. THIS OCCURRED AT THE END OF A 13 HR DUTY DAY AND APPROX 8 HR FLT TIME DAY. I BELIEVE FATIGUE CONTRIBUTED AND POSSIBLE IRRITATION WITH THE PREVIOUS CTLR. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 360983: AT THIS POINT SOMETHING DISTRACTED US AND WE CONTINUED THE DSCNT UNTIL THE ALT WARNING SOUNDED AT 500 FT LOW. AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS TO FIGURE OUT THAT THE ALERT WAS CORRECT WE CLBED BACK TO 7000 FT.
