Narrative:
Missed visual chkpoint while flying VFR using pilotage, VOR, and NDB. Subsequently located position 6 mi east of planned route. Distracted by apprehensive passenger, failed to recognize winds aloft greater, and different direction, than predicted. Will fly future VFR flts from VOR to VOR when near class B, C, or D airspace.

Narrative: MISSED VISUAL CHKPOINT WHILE FLYING VFR USING PILOTAGE, VOR, AND NDB. SUBSEQUENTLY LOCATED POS 6 MI E OF PLANNED RTE.
