Narrative:
After takeoff from bos, as we raised the landing gear the aircraft shuddered. There were no other abnormals. We continued on to dfw. While in-flight we contacted our tulsa technician for some assistance. Our decision was to continue to dfw, make a low approach to a runway, and have our maintenance personnel view our gear to be sure that it was in good condition. Then we would land after we got an ok from our maintenance. During our final approach to runway 31R at dfw we were advised by the tower that there was a helicopter at 1000 ft. The helicopter was supposedly a news media aircraft filming our approach. During the approach the helicopter set off our TCASII 3 times, which distracted us from our duties. I think that news media aircraft should not be allowed to interfere with or distract us from our duties.

Title: FLC OF AN LGT COMPLAINED ABOUT A NEWS MEDIA HELI FLYING NEARBY FINAL APCH DUE TO A LOW FLY-BY PLANNED FOR MAINT TO OBSERVE CONDITION OF LNDG GEAR. HELI SET OFF TCASII 3 TIMES CAUSING RPTR'S CREW DISTR.
