Narrative:
At the airport that I fly at, touch and goes are done very, very often. Getting cleared for the option is the usual practice. I had intentions of flying to pia and back home and doing a touch and go to save time. I had told pia approach of my intentions to touch and go for 'the option,' but when I was told to switch to tower and give intentions, I must have said 'for landing' to tower. I was cleared to land, but out of normal practice, I did a touch and go. This is a first time mistake like this for me. Re-asking for the option after being cleared to land would have solved this problem, or just landing like I was cleared to do would have been correct. This will certainly never happen again.
