Narrative:
Out of 5 aircraft I was assigned on this 3 day sequence, 2 -- including aircraft xx -- had exit doors that would not gust lock. This has been a consistent problem on the S80 fleet since march of 96. Is this a design problem or one of too long of periods between maintenance checks. I highly recommend that gust locks be checked by flcs on origination preflts as is the case on the B727. I believe a one time check of the entire S80 fleet is way past due.
