Narrative:
Aircraft arrived at dfw with a write-up about left thrust reverser accumulator low light on. After a few calls by us, maintenance arrived near our departure time. Maintenance personnel determined there was a leak in the left accumulator. They placarded the left thrust reverser inoperative, appropriate procedures were accomplished, and placards were installed in cockpit. The logbook was signed off showing all procedures accomplished according to MEL. After a few moments, maintenance gave a thumbs up, waved good-bye and left. During our pushback by a tug, the airplane moved about somewhat and my alert copilot noted the left reverser unlock light illuminate. We had the tug pull us back without starting our engines. Maintenance came out and after examination, stated that a locking device was not over center as it should be and the reverser could have deployed in-flight. They accomplished the procedure and we left for a normal flight.

Title: AN MD80 FLC RPTS THAT DURING AN MEL MAINT PROC THE TECHNICIANS FAILED TO COMPLETELY LOCK AN INOP THRUST REVERSER. DURING THE PUSHBACK PROC THE FO NOTICED THAT THE REVERSER UNLOCKED WHEN HYD PRESSURE WAS REMOVED. THE ACFT WAS TOWED BACK INTO THE GATE AND THE PROC WAS CORRECTLY ACCOMPLISHED.
Narrative: ACFT ARRIVED AT DFW WITH A WRITE-UP ABOUT L THRUST REVERSER ACCUMULATOR LOW LIGHT ON. AFTER A FEW CALLS BY US, MAINT ARRIVED NEAR OUR DEP TIME. MAINT CAME OUT AND AFTER EXAMINATION, STATED THAT A LOCKING DEVICE WAS NOT OVER CTR AS IT SHOULD BE AND THE REVERSER COULD HAVE DEPLOYED INFLT. THEY ACCOMPLISHED THE PROC AND WE LEFT FOR A NORMAL FLT.
