Narrative:
Descent into ewr and leveling at 11000 ft at holey intersection I descended about 300-400 ft below 11000 ft. We had an emergency in progress. The 'a' system hydraulic was inoperative. First officer was flying and captain was taking care of the emergency. We asked ATC about the altitude error and the controllers said not to worry about it.
