Medium large transport aircraft landing and exiting runway turned off on high speed taxiway D. Flight crew received ATIS prior to approach and thought they heard that taxiway east was closed, but after turning onto taxiway D, tower told them they should have exited at the crossing runway 9- 27.

Narrative:
ATIS stated that taxiway east closed. After landing runway 19L, we exited at highspd taxiway D. Ground advised after clearing that we should have cleared on runway 9/27. There were no barricades at highspd taxiway D and the lights were on at taxiway D.

Narrative: ATIS STATED THAT TXWY E CLOSED. AFTER LNDG RWY 19L, WE EXITED AT HIGHSPD TXWY D. GND ADVISED AFTER CLRING THAT WE SHOULD HAVE CLRED ON RWY 9/27. THERE WERE NO BARRICADES AT HIGHSPD TXWY D AND THE LIGHTS WERE ON AT TXWY D.
