Narrative:
At AB20 am apr/thu/97, I, the pilot of a twin beech hauling night freight outclbed my altitude by 1000 ft. I was assigned and filed for 7000 ft and climbed to 8000 ft with approach. I was then handed off to center. At this time I was alerted of my condition as I also noticed. I fly this run 4 nights a week and fly down at 8000 ft and typically return at 7000 ft. I was almost empty at the time and had a much higher climb rate coming out of dfw than usual. Although there is no excuse, they say that AB00 am to AD00 am is a bad time for fatigue related incidents. Communications on company frequency may have also cluttered the cockpit with distraction.

Title: ATX PLT CLBS TO 8000 FT WHEN FILED AND CLRED FOR 7000 FT. BLAMES EVENT ON EARLY OPERATING HRS AND HAVING FLOWN THAT ALT INBOUND TO DFW.
