Narrative:
Made 2 attempts to contact lga tower on 126.05. Just prior to third attempt controller ask for last caller's tail number. We requested our route (throgs, tower cabin attendant, east river handoff to ewr for staten island route, landing dca). The controller then informed us that we were already inside the class B airspace. At this time we both confirmed the two onboard vors set to 113.1 read 6.1 DME. The controller then cleared us on the route.

Title: HELI FLC INVADES CLASS B AIRSPACE NEAR LGA WHILE AWAITING A RETURN CALL FROM LGA TWR.
Narrative: MADE 2 ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT LGA TWR ON 126.05. JUST PRIOR TO THIRD ATTEMPT CTLR ASK FOR LAST CALLER'S TAIL NUMBER. WE REQUESTED OUR RTE (THROGS, TWR CAB, EAST RIVER HDOF TO EWR FOR STATEN ISLAND RTE, LNDG DCA). THE CTLR THEN INFORMED US THAT WE WERE ALREADY INSIDE THE CLASS B AIRSPACE. AT THIS TIME WE BOTH CONFIRMED THE TWO ONBOARD VORS SET TO 113.1 READ 6.1 DME. THE CTLR THEN CLRED US ON THE RTE.
