Narrative:
We were scheduled to fly from san to bct, wait until the following afternoon and return to san. This would not have presented a duty time problem. When we got to bct the passenger told us they wanted to leave as soon as possible. I told them we need to have at least 10 hours off. We did. When the passenger showed up, they wanted to drop 2 passenger in pdk and then return to san. While I had 10 hours off, I didn't realize that dropping the passenger off in pdk would have us fly more than 10 hours, in a 24 hour period. The first time I realized the mistake was while finishing the paperwork at home.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AIR TAXI FLC EXCEEDS THEIR LEGAL FLT TIME IN A 24 HR PERIOD. AFTER A REST PERIOD ON THE EAST COAST THEY MADE AN UNSCHEDULED 'DROP OFF' AT PDK PRIOR TO RETURNING TO SAN WHICH INCREASED THEIR FLT TIME.
