Narrative:
Aircraft was misfueled. Boarded fuel was calculated in accordance with air carrier procedures with calculator and checked against aircraft gauge and checked within 300 pounds, but was done before flight plan and weight and balance was on flight deck. All checklist procedures were accomplished in accordance with air carrier SOP however, difference between fuel on board and planned fuel was not detected. (This was a divert leg and the last leg of 2 day IOE trip after protracted WX delays.) fuel had been bumped to maximum landing weight plan of 113900 pounds (maximum 114000 pounds) for possible delays/divert at destination. Captain flew leg, I began preparation for approach/landing and noticed that we would be overweight at destination. We determined that we had been misfueled and made decision to accept an overweight landing at destination. In accordance with flight manual, entry in logbook was made and overweight inspection performed. In accordance with procedures, a captain irregularity report was submitted.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN ACR FLC IS MISFUELED AND THEY DO NOT NOTICE THAT THE EXTRA FUEL WOULD MAKE THEM TOO HVY FOR LNDG AT DEST. THE ERROR WAS NOTED DURING DSCNT, HOWEVER, THE FLC DECIDED TO CONTINUE FOR AN OVERWT LNDG.
Narrative: ACFT WAS MISFUELED. BOARDED FUEL WAS CALCULATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACR PROCS WITH CALCULATOR AND CHKED AGAINST ACFT GAUGE AND CHKED WITHIN 300 LBS, BUT WAS DONE BEFORE FLT PLAN AND WT AND BAL WAS ON FLT DECK. ALL CHKLIST PROCS WERE ACCOMPLISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACR SOP HOWEVER, DIFFERENCE BTWN FUEL ON BOARD AND PLANNED FUEL WAS NOT DETECTED. (THIS WAS A DIVERT LEG AND THE LAST LEG OF 2 DAY IOE TRIP AFTER PROTRACTED WX DELAYS.) FUEL HAD BEEN BUMPED TO MAX LNDG WT PLAN OF 113900 LBS (MAX 114000 LBS) FOR POSSIBLE DELAYS/DIVERT AT DEST. CAPT FLEW LEG, I BEGAN PREPARATION FOR APCH/LNDG AND NOTICED THAT WE WOULD BE OVERWT AT DEST. WE DETERMINED THAT WE HAD BEEN MISFUELED AND MADE DECISION TO ACCEPT AN OVERWT LNDG AT DEST. IN ACCORDANCE WITH FLT MANUAL, ENTRY IN LOGBOOK WAS MADE AND OVERWT INSPECTION PERFORMED. IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROCS, A CAPT IRREGULARITY RPT WAS SUBMITTED.
