Narrative:
I was cleared to take off on what I heard was runway 29R, and asked to expedite! I repeated takeoff runway and complied. Local control said abort and clear the runway after the takeoff roll started. I maneuvered the aircraft off the right side of the runway. Local then ordered the jet on final to 'go around!' I was then instructed to re-enter the runway, taxi to a near-by exit and proceed to runway 29L where I was cleared to takeoff. Local said I was cleared to cross runway 29R and takeoff on runway 29L! I replied that I repeated the assignment as runway 29R and expedited per instructions. A classic example of misunderstanding instructions. I'm embarrassed but alive!

Title: GA SMA PLT WAS CLRED TO EXPEDITE TKOF, THOUGHT RWY 29R. TOLD TO ABORT AND EXIT THE RWY. JET ON APCH RWY 29R WAS TOLD TO GAR. CTLR HAD CLRED SMA TO CROSS RWY 29R AND DEPART RWY 29L.

I WAS THEN INSTRUCTED TO RE-ENTER THE RWY, TAXI TO A NEAR-BY EXIT AND PROCEED TO RWY 29L WHERE I WAS CLRED TO TKOF. LCL SAID I WAS CLRED TO CROSS RWY 29R AND TKOF ON RWY 29L! I REPLIED THAT I REPEATED THE ASSIGNMENT AS RWY 29R AND EXPEDITED PER INSTRUCTIONS. A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF MISUNDERSTANDING INSTRUCTIONS. I'M EMBARRASSED BUT ALIVE!
