During night practice lndgs, a deer struck the aircraft during landing causing the propeller to stop when the deer was struck. The student pilot trainee and the instructor pilot pushed the aircraft off the runway and subsequently also removed the deer carcass from the runway. Airport facility directory remarks deer on airport. The aircraft sustained damage to the propeller and cowling.

Narrative:
After landing, I was rolling out when a deer ran into the side of the airplane. I had no warning of the deer until it had already hit the plane. The deer's body got struck by the propeller and caused the propeller to stop immediately. After the impact, I completed the rollout and pushed the plane off the runway. We then found the deer and dragged it off the runway too. The airport was dark except for the runway lights. I never saw the deer until it hit the plane.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG, I WAS ROLLING OUT WHEN A DEER RAN INTO THE SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE. I HAD NO WARNING OF THE DEER UNTIL IT HAD ALREADY HIT THE PLANE. THE DEER'S BODY GOT STRUCK BY THE PROP AND CAUSED THE PROP TO STOP IMMEDIATELY. AFTER THE IMPACT, I COMPLETED THE ROLLOUT AND PUSHED THE PLANE OFF THE RWY. WE THEN FOUND THE DEER AND DRAGGED IT OFF THE RWY TOO. THE ARPT WAS DARK EXCEPT FOR THE RWY LIGHTS. I NEVER SAW THE DEER UNTIL IT HIT THE PLANE.
