Narrative:
Gross navigation error en route from osaka to honolulu. Flight planned on track 12. After passing smolt, mistakenly headed for vepox (which was entry point for track 11). After 13 mins on wrong heading, the error was recognized and clearance immediately received to fly direct to mason (entry point for track 12). Flight continued uneventfully.

Title: WDB ACFT SELECTED WRONG WAYPOINT FOR NAV, DISCOVERED THE ERROR 13 MINS LATER BY ATC SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH FLC.
Narrative: GROSS NAV ERROR ENRTE FROM OSAKA TO HONOLULU. FLT PLANNED ON TRACK 12. AFTER PASSING SMOLT, MISTAKENLY HEADED FOR VEPOX (WHICH WAS ENTRY POINT FOR TRACK 11). AFTER 13 MINS ON WRONG HEADING, THE ERROR WAS RECOGNIZED AND CLRNC IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED TO FLY DIRECT TO MASON (ENTRY POINT FOR TRACK 12). FLT CONTINUED UNEVENTFULLY.
