Narrative:
On landing, nose gear failed with minimal damage. Mechanic locked nose gear in place for gear down ferry for repair to other local airport. However, no ferry permit was obtained and no logbook entry was made for locking gear down. No safety was compromised, but in retrospect am sure that paperwork criteria was probably not met.
