Narrative:

We were being vectored quite a bit on the norwich 2 arrival into bos. At one point, while we were setting up for the approach and descent, we were given a vector east for several mi. Thinking we were off of the arrival and being vectored for the ILS runway 4R into bos, we set up the navigation radios for the approach (ILS and bos for the missed). We then got sent direct to pvd. We set up the radios, but in the confusion of the descent, briefing the approach, and now the new NAVAID change (pvd), we never turned the airplane. We probably traveled east 5-7 mi before ZBW asked us if we heard 'direct pvd' (by the way, I did acknowledge the original radio call with 'roger, direct pvd'). We then turned 90 degrees to the north, and direct pvd. We don't know if any airspace violations occurred.

Title: B737 ON THE NORWICH 2 STAR TO BOS WAS GIVEN VECTORS. THINKING THEY WERE BEING VECTORED FOR AN APCH, THEY SO SET THEIR NAV GEAR. THEN THEY WERE CLRED DIRECT PVD AND HAD TO RESET THEIR NAV GEAR. THE ONLY THING THEY FORGOT WAS TO TURN DIRECT PVD.

Narrative: WE WERE BEING VECTORED QUITE A BIT ON THE NORWICH 2 ARR INTO BOS. AT ONE POINT, WHILE WE WERE SETTING UP FOR THE APCH AND DSCNT, WE WERE GIVEN A VECTOR E FOR SEVERAL MI. THINKING WE WERE OFF OF THE ARR AND BEING VECTORED FOR THE ILS RWY 4R INTO BOS, WE SET UP THE NAV RADIOS FOR THE APCH (ILS AND BOS FOR THE MISSED). WE THEN GOT SENT DIRECT TO PVD. WE SET UP THE RADIOS, BUT IN THE CONFUSION OF THE DSCNT, BRIEFING THE APCH, AND NOW THE NEW NAVAID CHANGE (PVD), WE NEVER TURNED THE AIRPLANE. WE PROBABLY TRAVELED E 5-7 MI BEFORE ZBW ASKED US IF WE HEARD 'DIRECT PVD' (BY THE WAY, I DID ACKNOWLEDGE THE ORIGINAL RADIO CALL WITH 'ROGER, DIRECT PVD'). WE THEN TURNED 90 DEGS TO THE N, AND DIRECT PVD. WE DON'T KNOW IF ANY AIRSPACE VIOLATIONS OCCURRED.
