Narrative:
On short final approach to runway 23 in clt the 'a' system pump low pressure lights came on and the 'a' hydraulic quantity went to zero. We were less than 500 ft AGL. Gear was down. Flaps were down full 30 degrees. 'B' system pressure and 'B' brake pressure were good and the aircraft was handling well so we continued to land advising tower that we may not be able to clear the runway. We were in fact able to clear the runway and accurately control the aircraft on the ground to taxi to the gate.

Title: B737-200 HAD 'A' SYS HYD FAILURE AT 500 FT ON FINAL APCH. BECAUSE LNDG GEAR WAS DOWN AND FULL FLAPS WERE EXTENDED, THEY CONTINUED AND LANDED ADVISING TWR THEY MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO CLR THE RWY. THEY WERE ABLE TO TAXI TO THE GATE.
Narrative: ON SHORT FINAL APCH TO RWY 23 IN CLT THE 'A' SYS PUMP LOW PRESSURE LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE 'A' HYD QUANTITY WENT TO ZERO. WE WERE LESS THAN 500 FT AGL. GEAR WAS DOWN. FLAPS WERE DOWN FULL 30 DEGS. 'B' SYS PRESSURE AND 'B' BRAKE PRESSURE WERE GOOD AND THE ACFT WAS HANDLING WELL SO WE CONTINUED TO LAND ADVISING TWR THAT WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CLR THE RWY. WE WERE IN FACT ABLE TO CLR THE RWY AND ACCURATELY CTL THE ACFT ON THE GND TO TAXI TO THE GATE.
