Narrative:

On gear retraction (nose gear unsafe) red light remained on. Completed emergency procedures, contacted air carrier X maintenance control. Cycled gear (no help). Placed gear down and with normal (3 green no red unsafe lights) returned to mia. Had fire trucks for safety and pinned gear after landing for taxi back to gate. Aircraft had history of nose gear problems. Landed below maximum landing weight of aircraft.

Title: ACR MLG ON GEAR RETRACTION HAD NOSE GEAR UNSAFE RED LIGHT. RECYCLED AND FOLLOWED SOP, NO HELP. DISCUSSED WITH MAINT CTL AND ELECTED TO RETURN TO FIELD. HAD EMER EQUIP STANDING BY AND PRIOR TO TAXI TO GATE HAD GEAR PINNED.
