Narrative:
In descent from FL280 to FL260, had RA at approximately FL270. Traffic visually acquired by first officer. Captain followed RA. When conflict resolved, annunciator stated monitor vertical speed. Vsi red band at approximately 4000-5000 FPM descent. Captain continued descent keeping vsi above red area. Stopped descent at FL255 and returned to FL260.
