Narrative:

During descent on the leese arrival into mco, the copilot was hand flying the aircraft from the right seat. We were handed off to orl approach. The frequency was very busy. We were given a descent clearance from 11000 ft to 9000 ft. We were descending through about 9300 ft when the controller called 'traffic, 12 O'clock and 1 mi, no altitude information, he may be down low.' there was an urgency in his voice and speed of delivery so I immediately began scanning the area in front of the airplane trying to locate the traffic. When I looked back inside the aircraft I noticed we were descending through 8400 ft. I pulled several G's on the aircraft to immediately get back up to 9000 ft. I would estimate that it took about 10 seconds to recover. The copilot was also engaged in looking for the traffic and just missed the leveloff. The controller did not mention the altitude deviation. In the future I will make sure that someone is watching the gauges to prevent preoccupation with possible traffic conflicts and subsequent loss of situational awareness.

Title: CPR JET IN DSCNT OVERSHOT ALT WHEN BOTH PLTS LOOKED FOR TFC GIVEN BY APCH CTLR.

Narrative: DURING DSCNT ON THE LEESE ARR INTO MCO, THE COPLT WAS HAND FLYING THE ACFT FROM THE R SEAT. WE WERE HANDED OFF TO ORL APCH. THE FREQ WAS VERY BUSY. WE WERE GIVEN A DSCNT CLRNC FROM 11000 FT TO 9000 FT. WE WERE DSNDING THROUGH ABOUT 9300 FT WHEN THE CTLR CALLED 'TFC, 12 O'CLOCK AND 1 MI, NO ALT INFO, HE MAY BE DOWN LOW.' THERE WAS AN URGENCY IN HIS VOICE AND SPD OF DELIVERY SO I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN SCANNING THE AREA IN FRONT OF THE AIRPLANE TRYING TO LOCATE THE TFC. WHEN I LOOKED BACK INSIDE THE ACFT I NOTICED WE WERE DSNDING THROUGH 8400 FT. I PULLED SEVERAL G'S ON THE ACFT TO IMMEDIATELY GET BACK UP TO 9000 FT. I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT IT TOOK ABOUT 10 SECONDS TO RECOVER. THE COPLT WAS ALSO ENGAGED IN LOOKING FOR THE TFC AND JUST MISSED THE LEVELOFF. THE CTLR DID NOT MENTION THE ALTDEV. IN THE FUTURE I WILL MAKE SURE THAT SOMEONE IS WATCHING THE GAUGES TO PREVENT PREOCCUPATION WITH POSSIBLE TFC CONFLICTS AND SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.
