Narrative:

We flew into power lines while landing on runway 18. It was an unfamiliar airstrip with no wire markers or displaced threshold. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states the airport was shown on the michigan state aeronautical chart. It is not shown on the sectional. It was a 2600 ft grass strip and did not indicate private. It is located about 17 NM north of 76D, huron county airport. The aircraft was a C172 skyhawk and there was very minor damage. The wire hit the spinner in the center and as it broke the wire, hit the leading edge of the wing and nicked the propeller slightly. No FAA involvement at this time.

Title: C172 SKYHAWK PLT HITS PWRLINE ON APCH TO LNDG.

Narrative: WE FLEW INTO PWR LINES WHILE LNDG ON RWY 18. IT WAS AN UNFAMILIAR AIRSTRIP WITH NO WIRE MARKERS OR DISPLACED THRESHOLD. IT WAS A 2600 FT GRASS STRIP AND DID NOT INDICATE PVT. IT IS LOCATED ABOUT 17 NM N OF 76D, HURON COUNTY ARPT. THE ACFT WAS A C172 SKYHAWK AND THERE WAS VERY MINOR DAMAGE. THE WIRE HIT THE SPINNER IN THE CTR AND AS IT BROKE THE WIRE, HIT THE LEADING EDGE OF THE WING AND NICKED THE PROP SLIGHTLY. NO FAA INVOLVEMENT AT THIS TIME.
