Narrative:
We filed and received the knead.knead 2 arrival to dal. The arrival is one of the new type, without any textual descriptors, only visual type. While reviewing the STAR, I failed to notice a 90 degree turn at 'tilla' and programmed the FMS to continue to the next intersection on the inbound radial. ATC saw us miss the turn and gave us an intercept turn back on course. I believe this was caused by reliance on the FMS which was improperly programmed due to confusing diagrams depicting the STAR. With proper VOR backup navigation or better STAR diagrams, this would be avoided.
