Narrative:
During takeoff I was the PNF. Gear handle was selected up. It moved up to the center (off) position. We observed the red lights turn on and green extinguish, and we heard the associated noises that occur at gear retraction, however the handle was stuck in the center position! I then instinctively activated the 'lock override' trigger and the gear retracted normally. We proceeded to destination and the remainder of the flight was uneventful. The captain and I discussed the need to use the 'gear handle will not move up after takeoff' checklist. Since in fact the gear handle did come up we did not find it necessary to accomplish said checklist since it did not apply. We grounded airplane at phx with the write-up for the stuck gear lever.

Title: THE GEAR HANDLE FAILED TO COME ALL THE WAY UP WHEN THE GEAR WAS RETRACTED FOR TKOF CAUSING THE CAPT TO ACTIVATE THE LOCK OVERRIDE TO CORRECT THE SIT. THE FLT CONTINUED TO DEST WHERE IT WAS GNDED FOR MAINT REVIEW.
