Narrative:
On a descent to a visual approach into mli, the left engine flamed out as the aircraft passed through 9600 ft MSL (approximately). No warnings or causes were apparent. Ran all appropriate checklists and followed FARS and company procedures and landed at mli without incident (engine #1 was secured).

Title: FLC OF AN ATR72 SECURED THE L ENG DURING DSCNT TO LAND AFTER IT FLAMED OUT. THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE EXPLANATION FOR THE FLAMEOUT OR ANY SUBSEQUENTLY LEARNED SINCE CONTACT WITH THE FLC WAS UNSUCCESSFUL.
Narrative: ON A DSCNT TO A VISUAL APCH INTO MLI, THE L ENG FLAMED OUT AS THE ACFT PASSED THROUGH 9600 FT MSL (APPROX). NO WARNINGS OR CAUSES WERE APPARENT. RAN ALL APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS AND FOLLOWED FARS AND COMPANY PROCS AND LANDED AT MLI WITHOUT INCIDENT (ENG #1 WAS SECURED).
