Narrative:
As power was being reduced to begin a descent, a series of popping noises was heard from the right engine. At the same time, torque had fallen to zero and the T5 gauge was observed to be high, about 800 degrees. After the engine was shut down and checklist completed, the aircraft was flown to ketchikan harbor where a safe landing was made.
