Narrative:
While landing at an unimproved landing zone (a street), rotor wash blew store front awning off store, breaking a street lamp and a window. While descending into landing zone, had nurse and paramedic watch both sides, especially on side with awning. During descent ground crew alerted us to abort landing. I stopped descent, then vertically departed landing zone. Landing zone had been designated by ground personnel. Contributing factors: I relied too much on ground crew's landing zone selection. Excessive desire to complete mission.
