Narrative:

Departed sav on assigned heading of 320 degrees, following DC9 through break in cumulo nimbus. At about 10 mi out, left engine began to surge. Feathered left propeller, secured engine and advised departure I wished to return to sav. Airport was VFR at the time and I was then VFR. Received clearance to descend and return and vectored myself remaining VFR and landed without incident at sav. Emergency was not declared. I suspected fuel starvation but once engine secured I did not attempt xfeed due to WX in the area. Decided landing as soon as possible prudent. Landing accomplished without incident or damage. Preliminary report from mechanic indicates a ruptured auxiliary fuel bladder. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states the aircraft was a BE58. He has not heard any further word on cause of the problem.
