Narrative:
On final approach to mdw airport we were told by approach control to contact the tower at ermin (LOM). While we were still 5 mi outside of ermin, I was busy watching my copilot flying and looking for local traffic and forgot to call the tower at ermin (LOM runway 4R). We landed and turned off the runway and ground asked us if we had a clearance to land. I answered that we must have not switched to tower from approach and was that going to be a problem. Ground answered no. When in a position of observing another pilot fly, one must pay closer attention to clrncs.
