Narrative:

We departed anc for a round trip freighter at approximately XA15 for bfi. Our aircraft had an MEL item -- #1 oil quantity gauge inoperative -- which requires a mechanic to check and fill oil as required at each fuel stop. At bfi, we unloaded and loaded for return flight to anc. We also fueled. However, I did not check to see if a mechanic svced the oil for #1 engine. We returned to anc and arrived at approximately XG30. The flight was without incident (uneventful). I would say that the time of day (night) and crew changing rest patterns contributed to this oversight.
