Narrative:

Received aircraft from maintenance. The first officer and myself both did walkarounds and observed that the oxygen bay door was closed and the latches were flush. The first officer also leaned against the door as he was checking the brakes on the right side of the aircraft and the door had no play in it. After we had taken off and were climbing through about 15000 ft the flight attendant called and told us that there was a door open outside the window of seat xx. The way she described it I was sure that she was talking about the oil cooler door so I told her that it was the oil cooler door and that it should be open at that stage of flight. The flight attendant seemed satisfied with this explanation. After landing at dfw it was discovered that it was the oxygen bay door was open. We experienced no abnormal flight characteristics and the landing at dfw was without incident.
