Narrative:
Level 11000 ft MSL. ZNY TA 'unknown traffic 12 O'clock, indicating 10500 ft.' we received traffic RA to climb. Vsi asked for climb (+1500 FPM). We disconnected autoplt and initiated climb and advised ATC of RA and of our climb. Climbed to 11800 ft. Then returned to 11000 ft. We never saw traffic.
