Narrative:
Arrived at aztec intersection, announced on 122.8 (CTAF) position and intention to make VOR DME approach to durango runway 2 visually (not under the hood). Proceeded inbound. At about 10 DME aircraft announced downwind to runway 20 durango. At quell intersection (7.0 DME and initial approach fix) announced position and intention to make VOR DME approach to runway 2 visually and to terminate approach with missed approach. At 3.0 DME a metroliner announced 10 mi north on final for runway 20. Announced my position 3.0 DME and termination of the approach with a missed approach. About 30 seconds later another aircraft called 'cessna on VOR approach did you not see me. I am 25 ft off your right wing.' looked immediately and could see no aircraft in that location nor to my right rear. Banked to see to the right and below but still could see no aircraft. Then checked the altimeter and found I was at 7100 ft and descending. Then the MM beacon came alive and I announced a missed approach and did so. A few seconds later the metroliner announced on a 4 mi final for runway 20 and I spotted him to my left and about 4 mi. Then the other aircraft called the metroliner and reported 'the airplane that just missed me is east of the airport.' metroliner replied 'in about the downwind position?' other aircraft reported affirmative and the metroliner replied 'we have him.' then missed approach procedure was abandoned and turned right (south) to try to see the other aircraft. He was nowhere within my vision. I never did see that aircraft, nor did he ever use his call sign in his xmissions. I have no idea where he came from or where he was going. If he departed runway 20 at durango he did not report that procedure on 122.8. If he had I would have abandoned the approach immediately. I had the runway at durango in sight at all times and I did not see him on that runway nor between my position and the runway. I had no idea where he came from or what his intentions were. It seems another case of the lack of position reporting becoming a serious hazard at an uncontrolled airport.

Title: PLT OF C182 MAKING PRACTICE VOR DME APCH AT UNCTLED ARPT HAS ACFT ON UNICOM FREQ QUERY IF HE SAW HIM 25 FT OFF THE R WING. SECOND ACFT HAD NOT MADE ANY POS RPT ON CTAF.
Narrative: ARRIVED AT AZTEC INTXN, ANNOUNCED ON 122.8 (CTAF) POS AND INTENTION TO MAKE VOR DME APCH TO DURANGO RWY 2 VISUALLY (NOT UNDER THE HOOD). PROCEEDED INBOUND. AT ABOUT 10 DME ACFT ANNOUNCED DOWNWIND TO RWY 20 DURANGO. AT QUELL INTXN (7.0 DME AND INITIAL APCH FIX) ANNOUNCED POS AND INTENTION TO MAKE VOR DME APCH TO RWY 2 VISUALLY AND TO TERMINATE APCH WITH MISSED APCH. AT 3.0 DME A METROLINER ANNOUNCED 10 MI N ON FINAL FOR RWY 20. ANNOUNCED MY POS 3.0 DME AND TERMINATION OF THE APCH WITH A MISSED APCH. ABOUT 30 SECONDS LATER ANOTHER ACFT CALLED 'CESSNA ON VOR APCH DID YOU NOT SEE ME. I AM 25 FT OFF YOUR R WING.' LOOKED IMMEDIATELY AND COULD SEE NO ACFT IN THAT LOCATION NOR TO MY R REAR. BANKED TO SEE TO THE R AND BELOW BUT STILL COULD SEE NO ACFT. THEN CHKED THE ALTIMETER AND FOUND I WAS AT 7100 FT AND DSNDING. THEN THE MM BEACON CAME ALIVE AND I ANNOUNCED A MISSED APCH AND DID SO. A FEW SECONDS LATER THE METROLINER ANNOUNCED ON A 4 MI FINAL FOR RWY 20 AND I SPOTTED HIM TO MY L AND ABOUT 4 MI. THEN THE OTHER ACFT CALLED THE METROLINER AND RPTED 'THE AIRPLANE THAT JUST MISSED ME IS E OF THE ARPT.' METROLINER REPLIED 'IN ABOUT THE DOWNWIND POS?' OTHER ACFT RPTED AFFIRMATIVE AND THE METROLINER REPLIED 'WE HAVE HIM.' THEN MISSED APCH PROC WAS ABANDONED AND TURNED R (S) TO TRY TO SEE THE OTHER ACFT. HE WAS NOWHERE WITHIN MY VISION. I NEVER DID SEE THAT ACFT, NOR DID HE EVER USE HIS CALL SIGN IN HIS XMISSIONS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE HE CAME FROM OR WHERE HE WAS GOING. IF HE DEPARTED RWY 20 AT DURANGO HE DID NOT RPT THAT PROC ON 122.8. IF HE HAD I WOULD HAVE ABANDONED THE APCH IMMEDIATELY. I HAD THE RWY AT DURANGO IN SIGHT AT ALL TIMES AND I DID NOT SEE HIM ON THAT RWY NOR BTWN MY POS AND THE RWY. I HAD NO IDEA WHERE HE CAME FROM OR WHAT HIS INTENTIONS WERE. IT SEEMS ANOTHER CASE OF THE LACK OF POS RPTING BECOMING A SERIOUS HAZARD AT AN UNCTLED ARPT.
