Narrative:
Passenger was seated and was traveling with another couple. We landed in chicago and were asked to go situation in the box because they did not have a gate for us. The captain turned off the fasten seat belt sign and gentleman travel companion asked to use the lavatory. He came out of the lavatory and nothing was unusual. The gentleman in question then went into the lavatory and was occupied for 4 or 5 mins. When he came out I was standing in row xx and my partner in row yy (2 rows closest to the lavatory), in order to get out of his way so that he could go by. As he walked by you could smell the cigarette. I then walked to the lavatory with my partner, opened the lavatory door and smoke poured out of the lavatory. I then went up to this gentleman and told him that it is a federal offense to smoke in any aircraft lavatory. He said, 'oh, is it?' I then requested that the police meet the flight. Information was taken on the entire incident from me and my flying partner.
