Narrative:
The other crew member was flying the VMC approach. As he began his flare to land the left wing dropped abruptly, subsequently striking the pavement. This set up a severe dutch roll. I took the controls and made a go around and landed the airplane uneventfully. I believe he lost control of the airplane. Corrective action would be more training for him.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CPR PLT MAKING APCH FOR LNDG, LOSES CTL OF ACFT, STRIKING THE L WINGTIP ON THE RWY. OTHER PLT, PRESUMABLY THE PIC, MAKES A GAR, PIC INDICATES LOW EXPERIENCE LEVEL IN ACFT AND IMPLIES THAT THE OTHER CREW MEMBER WAS ALSO NEW TO ACFT.
Narrative: THE OTHER CREW MEMBER WAS FLYING THE VMC APCH. AS HE BEGAN HIS FLARE TO LAND THE L WING DROPPED ABRUPTLY, SUBSEQUENTLY STRIKING THE PAVEMENT. THIS SET UP A SEVERE DUTCH ROLL. I TOOK THE CTLS AND MADE A GAR AND LANDED THE AIRPLANE UNEVENTFULLY. I BELIEVE HE LOST CTL OF THE AIRPLANE. CORRECTIVE ACTION WOULD BE MORE TRAINING FOR HIM.
